Tell us about your business/What led you to bring a Hair and Makeup Artist?
When I first started cosmetology school I always knew that I loved hair and makeup itself but what led me to choose to do hair and makeup was that I loved getting to make people feel beautiful and being able to connect with people from all over. Makeup and hair create a genuine connection between the artist and the client, you are able to provide a service for someone that makes them feel special and helps them to see how beautiful they are.
What keeps you passionate about weddings?
I would have to say that getting to be a part of such a HUGE day for someone and seeing a Bride smiling or getting emotional over how beautiful she feels is what keeps me so passionate about weddings.
How long have you been in the Wedding HUMA business?
I have been doing free lance hair and makeup since high school but professionally I have been doing wedding and event hair and makeup for almost 4 years now, and loving every minute.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspo for each clients look in their personality, I feel like getting to know my clients and their goals helps me to create a unique look and style. I also find inspo in the seasons, in the clients specific style and even from other creative minds and artist. I love to collaborate with other creative minds.
What should couples know before hiring someone for their HUMA?
Before hiring any hmua it’s great to know how much experience they have with your particular type of event and needs, this way you can be sure that your stylist will help your wedding or event to run very smooth.
What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask?
Great questions for couples to ask their potential hair and makeup artists are 1. Are you educated on the proper sanitation guidelines? 2. Do you have a portfolio or work that I can view? 3. What beauty and hair care products do you use? 4. How much experience do you have with my type of event?
What sets you apart in your industry?
I would say what sets me apart in this industry would be my want and drive to truly make women feel so beautiful inside and out. It is my goal with each wedding and event to not only glam my clients but to make a connection and help them to have a memorable time and experience with me. My clients feel like family to me and a lot of them I stay in contact with years after their event.
Outside of your business, tell us about yourself!
A little about myself, I am newly married as of June 2021, and my husband and I are expecting a little baby girl arriving July 2022. I love tik tok, pickles, ulta, all things glam, slim Jim’s, being around good people, and belly laughs
What common mistakes do you see couples making?
Sometimes clients will opt out of a trial but I would say i would recommend holding a trial with your stylist for your bridal event not only to perfect your look but to make sure that your stylist and their team is the best fit for you.
What your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
My best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding is to enjoy every minute of it because it’s going to be the best day of your lives.
What’s the most unusual wedding you ever did?
The most unusual wedding that I have ever done was a wedding that was held at midnight on New Year’s Eve. I absolutely loved the idea but I had never done anything like it. I’d love to do it again.
What was the most memorable wedding you ever worked, and why?
The most memorable wedding I have ever worked have been the ones I have worked for family in friends. It is always a beautiful experience but getting to glam up your closest friends & family members is unlike anything I have ever experienced and such an honor.
